Dr. Chameen Sams

I was honoured to present on “Small Corneal Lesions” at this year’s Specsavers Clinical Conference, sharing insights into the diagnosis and management of a range of corneal conditions, including marginal keratitis, infectious keratitis, and peripheral ulcerative keratitis.

The session generated excellent discussion, with optometrists asking thoughtful and clinically relevant questions throughout. Their enthusiasm and engagement highlighted the vital role optometrists play in identifying subtle corneal changes and ensuring patients receive timely care when sight-threatening conditions are suspected.

Conferences such as these provide valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge and support ongoing professional development within the eye care community. Strong optometric education remains essential for early detection, appropriate referral, and achieving the best possible outcomes for patients.
I would like to thank Specsavers and all attendees for their participation and commitment to advancing clinical excellence in eye care.
